Ben Cantrell

Ben Cantrell teaches violin at McLennan Community College. Born in Frisco, Texas and based in Waco, Ben currently enjoys section viola positions with the Waco Symphony and Abilene Philharmonic. He concertizes frequently as a soloist, early music performer, and chamber musician in the Waco area and abroad.
He completed a Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Baylor University, and is remaining there to complete a Master of Viola Performance and Musicology. Research topics of interest include the 19th-century Viennese composer Karl Goldmark, the history and development of classical music in Switzerland, and ecomusicology. 
When not playing or teaching, Ben enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking with his wife and dog.
